Jerome Detotto (“Jay” to his friends and family) is a lifelong musician and music fan. After growing up in the Syracuse, NY area and graduating from Oswego State, he spent a decade in Phoenix, AZ and now resides in Austin, TX.
He has played musical instruments since elementary school, beginning with clarinet, and continuing with alto clarinet through high school. He took up string bass in junior high, which led to his performing with bands as an electric bassist. He also plays (with differing amounts of expertise) guitar, keyboards and drums.
His influences are varied, including 70s rock and southern rock, 80s pop, classical, jazz fusion, progressive rock, contemporary country, and current hits. Some of his favorite artists are Santana, the Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Poco, Yes, Charlie Daniels, Fleetwood Mac, Steve Winwood, Phil Collins, Deadmau5 and Dua Lipa.
In his younger days, he played bass in several popular rock cover bands in the Phoenix area during the 1980s, including T. Gregg & The Vipers and Quakes. Though he no longer performs live, he continues to write and record music in his home studio.
Jerodet Music was created to market Jay’s compositions to the TV and film industry. His music ranges from quirky pop to EDM to orchestral/synth hybrid, and much in between.
